Juno Movie Review

I would definitely recommend this movie to stressed, dejected, and melancholic persons out there. Juno makes you forget, even for a moment, of all
your problems and makes you focus solely on her predicament. I watched this movie without any idea of what it's about,
except for the unclear summary found at the back of the pirated DVD. So I don't intend to offer you my own summary of the movie, or maybe I am just too tired to do one. Anyway, seriously, I believe movies are better appreciated if you don't know what the hell it's about. The film is directed by Jason Reitman, the same person who brought us the film "Thank You For Smoking", and written by Diablo Cody. It stars Ellen Page, Michael Cera (Superbad), and Jennifer Garner, among others.

Bucket List Movie Review

The first time I saw the movie poster I instantly wanted to watch "Bucket List" simply because of its
two stars, Morgan Freeman and Jack Nicholson. Once I saw the movie trailer, I wanted to watch
the whole movie even more. When I finally watched it I wasn't disappointed at all. Freeman and
Nicholson's performances, especially Nicholson's antics, are enough to keep you glued to the
boob tube. There are however some awkward moments, ala brokeback, that would make you play ipod quiz instead. Majority of the reviews in the internet have criticized the movie for being poorly written, but many have also lauded the performance of the two stars. All in all, the movie is
not a waste of your hard-earned money.

November 25 is not an ordinary day. One-fourth of the day would determine the next four years of aspiring lawyers. Judgment day falls on this day, the last sunday of November, for those taking up the Law Aptitude Examination (LAE) of the UP College of Law. At exactly 7:30 am on that day, while most of the people are still sleeping, more than a thousand test-takers would start cogitating, including me. Months of preparation and review would be put to the test for several hours. Out of the thousand examiness, very few would be fortunate enough to break on through to the other side - four years of quality education at the premier state university.

To put it simply: walang mag-aaya ng inuman hanggang november 25 ng hapon. kelangan kong mag-aral. orayt? hehe.

Both has withdrawal symptoms that are hard to bear. One occurs in your mind and heart, the other in your lungs. But I've decided. I quit. Both of you have had good effects, but your bad effects are much heavier. It's not worth it so I quit. For now I do, until when?, only time knows. Both of you have helped me get past dim paths, but sometimes it seems it is also the two of you that leads me there. No more of this, I want to bathe in the light now.
Before graduation many people had asked me what I'd do after college. I always said I'd be a full time musician, part time bum, and "part time tambay sa UP Manila".

Ironically, the day after graduation and I was already off to ortigas for a "business opportunity". An acquiantance from UP Manila had told me about the business opportunity, the suspicious thing about it is that he wouldn't tell me the details. It will be discussed in their office in ortigas, he said. It turned out that it was one of the networking companies, or the so called MLMs (Multi-level marketing). I had heard bad reviews about them from people. And the bad reviews were real after all. Going to the meeting was a waste of time, money and effort. Oh well, at least I tried and learned
something new.

Three days after graduation, I have decided to stick to the original plan.

Cigarettes Warning: Government Kills

It was 3 am. I was on my way home from 6 underground in Makati. Me and two of my sisses went to 6UG to savor music different from that of ice in greenbelt 3. From Ayala Avenue I took the route Kamagong that lead to pablo ocampo street instead of using the gil puyat-south super high way route to avoid the police checkpoint in the south superhighway near quirino avenue. Its not that I was a fugitive, I just wanted to arrive home the soonest possible because I had taken too much red horse. I had a rocking time at 6 underground although we only got to watch Typecast and paramita, and so I was in a good mood. To my surprise, there was now a checkpoint at the turn going to estrada street from pablo ocampo street.

The police motioned me to stop the vehicle near the sidewalk, and to show my driver's license. I immediately and without panic did as asked, but in the process, the police got a glance of my school ID, my UP ID. He asked what my course is, and when he learned that I was a political science student, he immediately said: "baka naman maging komunista ka niyan, hindi naman ano?". I didn't reply. Why would I, he was red baiting! In this times of rampant political killings answering them would not be a good idea because the police and the government are totally paranoid. They think that people from U.P. are communists, and destablizers.

After a while of thoroughly searching the car for guns or "epektus" and finding none, he let me leave.

I lighted a cigarette afterwards, although I had smoked too much that night, and realized that the label in the pack should be changed to "Cigarettes Warning: Government Kills".

this is not about the movie at all. this is real life. besides i haven't watched the movie yet.

1:50 am. still awake even though my body says sleep. this is my favorite time of any day. a time where everything is quiet, everyone is asleep. if i go out i wouldn't worry about crossing the road because the vehicles are few. if i want to study, i wouldn't worry about being distracted by people shouting at one another.

there are times when one thing leads me to another, just out of curiousity or sheer excitement, i go on and explore. then there are times when a revelation is right in front of me, staring me in the face, and saying "look at me!". this is one of those times.

to finish this story, i just realized a parallelism which struck me so hard. it is so ironic. I was reading other people's lives when i realized or it was revealed to me that the same thing happened between her and another person, and me and this other person. we said the exact same thing. we apologized for the exact same mistake.

the mistake was we both started something which we didn't realized we couldn't finish, and wind up hurting other people.

maybe that is why her and this other person are now close friends, they could relate to one another. maybe if that other person and I would meet, we'd be friends too.

shit..exact words, exact essence. tsk3.

UP Tuition Fee Increase

December 15, 2006. UP Diliman. Quezon hall. Binaricada ang mga entrance para hindi makapasok ang BOR.. nagtagumpay!

Inilipat ang Board Of Regents meeting sa College of Law. Nagpunta ang UP Diliman at UP Los Banos doon. Naiwan ang hanay ng UP Manila sa Quezon Hall.

Pagkalipas ng 1 oras, pumunta ang hanay sa College of Law. Isang masamang balita... Naipasa na ang Tuition and Other Fee Increases!

fucking assholes in the house of representatives have done it, they railroaded the process by using numbers and not rationality, democracy, or any of the "good stuff".. this is the last of their attempts that's why it is getting desperate..they have failed in their other previous attempts, thanks to the independence of the supreme court, and the checks and balance provided by the senate..i'm not saying that both these institutions are corrupt free or totally righteous at all, but at this moment in our country's history their achievements are landmarks..without them this country could have gotten more divisive and chaotic.. thanks to them..

let us all opposed the fraudulent and selfish attempt by the minions of Gloria Macapagal Arroyo.. There are so many ways to show your opposition.. March to the streets, spread the word, post a blog, whatever..just do something dammit...

i never meant it to happen this way..us becoming strangers again after some time of friendship. yet it is happening..sad, if you think about it. after all those promises that we'd sustain it..we didn't even last for half a year.

things have become complicated since we first met, and it maybe the reason why the gap is there. again, i never meant for it to happen this way. i wanted to preserve the friendship above all. for the last time i want to tell you that i did mean everything that i told you, and expressed to you, it wasn't a joke, i wasn't playing around, all were real. i could never really explain everything because it is too complicated anyway..but what transcends above all the detail is that I was sincere..whether you believe it or not is up to you...in the end, it just might be this reason: "maybe i'm just not the one for you...."

----this is my last attempt to preserve what has started to slowly disappear...if you wish to stay the way you are right now, then it means it is time for me to give up....
